The Kalahari deserts annual rainfall is just about 9.8 inches, which means t hat it is .2 inches away from no longer being classified as a desert. During the summer the Kalahari desert can reach up to 104 degrees fahrenheit, and during the winter can drop as low as 32 degrees fahrenheit. There was once a lake that covered about 250,000 square kilometers or 106,000 square miles until it was finally drained 10,000 years ago
